Welcome to VB Radio. The home of music, connection, and creativity.
This station only exists because of the passion each of our DJs bring. Every show, every set, every word spoken on the mic adds to a legacy we’re building together.
We may be volunteers, but that doesn’t mean what we do is small, it means what we do is powered by love.
To keep the station thriving, we hold ourselves to certain standards. Not rigid rules, but guiding principles that help us shine as individuals while moving forward as one.
The DJ Code of Conduct below is here to protect our vibe, respect our listeners, and honour each other. We make it public for full transparency.
We encourage DJs to read it, own it, and live it; because when you step up to the decks under our banner, or you enter the chat room, you represent more than yourself, you represent the whole VB Family.
For all presenters and DJs.
This station is built on passion, respect, and shared love of music. As volunteers, we give our time freely, but with that freedom comes responsibility. These guidelines set out what is expected, what is accepted, and how we can work together to keep the station strong.
1. Commitment & Reliability
You are expected to honour your scheduled shows. If you cannot attend, let the team know as early as possible.
It is accepted that life sometimes gets in the way. Communication is the key, silence is not.
2. Communication & Respect
You are expected to communicate clearly and respectfully with fellow DJs, management, and listeners.
It is accepted that disagreements happen, but personal attacks or ongoing negativity will not be tolerated.
3. Performance & Presentation
You are expected to deliver shows with care; clean sound levels, clear mic use, and thoughtful track selection.
It is accepted that mistakes and experiments happen. Authenticity matters more than perfection.
4. Team Spirit & Contribution
You are expected to support the wider station community, share shows, promote events, and encourage others.
It is accepted that you cannot catch everything, but isolating yourself from the team weakens us all.
5. Professionalism & Growth
You are expected to treat the station as a respected platform. Protect its reputation and always strive to improve.
It is accepted that you are on a journey; learning, growing, and finding your voice.
6. Music & Copyright
You are expected to use high-quality, legally obtained music. The station stands for excellence.
It is accepted that personal taste will vary, but laziness with poor sources or bad audio quality is not acceptable.
7. E-Colours Awareness
Every DJ brings their own style and energy. We recognise the strengths of different personality styles:
Red (Doers): Bring drive and energy, but balance it with patience.
Blue (Thinkers): Uphold standards, but don’t get lost in perfectionism.
Yellow (Socialisers): Share your enthusiasm, but respect airtime.
Green (Relaters): Build trust and connection, but don’t hold back your voice.
Together, these colours create balance. Together, we create something special.
⚡ In short: Be reliable, be respectful, bring your best, and remember, we rise as a Family of music lovers.
